Tuesday, 8 January 2019

Those wishing to organise regional events in the second half of 2019 are being encouraged to apply for a slice of the $500,000 funding on offer from the NSW Government.

Member for Barwon, Kevin Humphries today reminded event owners that applications for Round Two of the Incubator Event Fund and Flagship Event Fund are still open and are set to close on Saturday 13 January 2019.

“I’m encouraging anyone in the community looking to put on an event in the second half of 2019 to jump online and lodge an application for the $500,000 funding on offer through the NSW Government.

“The funding is designed to help get first-time events off the ground or assist relatively new events gain the reputation they need to become even bigger and more successful.

“Our community is already blessed with some of the best events in NSW, but I’m keen to see even more world-class events come to life in our region,” Kevin Humphries said.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said the NSW Government was committed to driving more visitations to rural and regional NSW.

“The NSW Government is ensuring rural and regional NSW gets a fair slice of the State’s booming tourism sector through initiatives such as these which help draw even more visitors to country NSW.

“We know that when people come to events in rural and regional NSW they in turn inject invaluable cash into our communities and their many cafes, hotels, pubs and shops,” Mr Marshall said.

The Flagship Event Fund offers an annual grant of $20,000 or a triennial grant of $27,500 to support marketing activities.

The Incubator Event Fund offers grants of up to $20,000 to new events to assist with elements such as temporary infrastructure, marketing and promotions, venue hire or attendee research.
