FUNDING BOOST FOR BARWON LOCAL SHOOTING CLUBS

Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries is pleased to announce 13 local shooting clubs in the Barwon Electorate will share $117,440 in NSW Government funding to as part of the 2017/18 Safe Shooting Program.

“It is important that the community can practice their sport in a safe environment and the Safe Shooting Program assists in facilitating this”, Mr Humphries said.

“These grants help to provide a great opportunity for all clubs and ranges to review and evaluate capital upgrades, and to continue to provide safe and accessible access to clubs and ranges.”

“I congratulate all applicants on their successful application and look forward to seeing the benefits of these upgrades.

Grants were awarded to the following recipients:

• BROKEN HILL PISTOL CLUB INC - Upgrades of shooting range to comply with FAR requirements - $17,000
• BREWARRINA CLAY TARGET CLUB INC - Upgrade the safety of shooting layout - $20,000
• NARRABRI PISTOL CLUB INC - Removal and replacement of target frames - $13,000
• BROKEN HILL FIELD AND GAME ASSOCIATION INC - Purchase of clay target traps and a remote release system - $4,000
• WARREN GUN CLUB INC - Organising firearms awareness and safe shooting coaching clinics for rural women - $900
• WARREN GUN CLUB INC - First Aid Training for Warren Gun Clubs coaches and shooters - $900
• MENDOORAN GUN CLUB INC - Installation of clay target throwing machines with wireless release mechanism - $14,000
• GILGANDRA AMATEUR PISTOL CLUB - First Aid Training and purchase of equipment to connect with FALCON system- $3,000
• SILVER CITY SMALLBORE RIFLE CLUB INC. - Construction of boundary exclusion range safety fence - $18,000
• WARREN GUN CLUB INC - Purchase and installation of safe storage lockers -$900
• COONAMBLE CLAY TARGET CLUB ASSOCIATION INC - Fencing of club facility - $18,000
• MILPARINKA FIELD AND GAME ASSOCIATION - Upgrade of traps from manual to automatic - $3,500
• CONDOBOLIN CLAY TARGET CLUB - Replacement of shipping container - $4240
