FISH HABITAT FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR FAR WEST

Member for Barwon, Kevin Humphries advises that the second allocation of the Flagship Fish Habitat Grants program which offer a unique chance to instigate large-scale improvements to local fish habitats, has been announced and the communities of the Far West are encouraged to apply. The program offers applicants up to $400,000 over two years for the rehabilitation of fish habitats.

BROKEN HILL TO BENEFIT FROM NSW GOVERNMENT FUNDING

Kevin Humphries, Member for Barwon today announced that the Perfect Light Film Festival will benefit from NSW Government funding under Round Two of the 2019 Flagship Event Fund.

Kevin Humphries said, “the Fund provides an annual grant of $20,000 or a triennial grant of $27,500 for marketing initiatives aimed at driving overnight visitation.

Every public high school in Barwon will have two dedicated experts to ensure students have access to vital mental health and wellbeing support.

Nationals Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries said an $88 million investment by the NSW Nationals will mean that every public high school student in Barwon will have access to highly-qualified mental health professionals that they can confidentially speak to about bullying, anxiety, stress or any other difficult issue they may face.

Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries has today announced $15,901,000 for 8 projects under the Fixing Country Roads and Fixing Country Rail programs.
Kevin Humphries said whilst we can’t make it rain we can continue to invest in rebuilding our electorates critical infrastructure.

“These eight infrastructure projects are amongst thirty-three projects across regional NSW to be awarded a share of $135 million, boosting freight efficiency, capacity and connectivity.

$11.2 MILLION COOLAH MULTI-PURPOSE SERVICE FACILITY OFFICLALY OPENED

Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries today officially opened the Coolah Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) project.

Mr Humphries made the announcement in Coolah today to a large crowd of health staff and local community groups who have been heavily invested in this much needed project.

The MPS model tailors healthcare needs for the local community by integrating health, aged care services and emergency services to provide flexible health service delivery – from primary health care to acute and residential aged care.

Member for Barwon, Kevin Humphries announced today that three new NSW TrainLink coach services from Broken Hill will commence later this year and will give families, those travelling for work and tourists, more choice and flexibility when travelling to Adelaide or Mildura.

Kevin Humphries said the proposed coach services are a win for Broken Hill.

“The existing transport links between Broken Hill and these two cities are limited, which means people often need to book flights or drive themselves.

NEW NURSING AND MIDWIFERY GRADUATES START IN BARWON

Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries welcomed 133 new nursing and midwifery graduates to the Western NSW and Far West Local Health Districts, launching their careers at local hospitals and health services.

“Nursing and midwifery graduates are an integral part of our workforce and will go on to make a huge difference in the lives of local patients and their families,” Mr Humphries said.
