HERITAGE GRANTS UP FOR GRABS IN FAR WEST

Member for Barwon, Kevin Humphries said “Community groups across the Far West are encouraged to apply for projects where heritage is celebrated, such as working with a local school to make short films on historical events, with grants of up to $50,000 available.

“Aboriginal Cultural Heritage is a particular focus of our revitalised grants program. Projects might include storytelling workshops, recording of oral histories or works included in a management plan for significant Aboriginal sites, with grants of up to $70,000 available.

CRIME FIGURES DOWN IN BROKEN HILL

Member for Barwon, Kevin Humphries has commended local police for their exceptional work in driving down local crime.

Kevin Humphries said that the most recent quarterly data from the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) is a testament to the proactive work of local police in detecting and preventing crime.

“Local statistics from the Far West showed two major crime categories remaining stable or trending down,” Kevin Humphries said

BARWON TO BENEFIT FROM ARTS FUNDING BOOST

Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries and Minister for the Arts, Don Harwin are pleased to announce a stunning line-up of new arts projects set to take place in Barwon thanks to support from the latest round of the NSW Government’s Country Arts Support Program.

An investment of $250,000 from the NSW Government is aimed at supporting and improving the quality, reach and strength of short-term, locally-initiated activities.
